50 Years Strong!
Plant Manager Corner
Team, first of all, I hope this correspondence finds you and your family safe and well. Many lives have been impacted by the spread of the Novel Corona Virus. Our thoughts are with those who have, and continue to, suffer impacts from this virus. Many of the behaviors that were normally acceptable in our day-to-day lives have since changed. Our plan at this point, is to bring all employees back to the plant before we resume production to participate in an orientation, this will allow us to walk you through the changes and why this is so important.
In an effort to enhance our work environment, we are working on many items to ensure you return to a safe work environment:
⯈ Deep clean has been completed.
⯈ We will continue to sanitize common “touch point areas” at an increased frequency.
⯈ We will introduce new risk based PPE for all employees.
⯈ We have implemented new visitor and supplier protocols.
⯈ An Adient facility is making a face cover. These, or other approved covers, will be mandatory to wear within the facility.
⯈ We have analyzed each work area and are in process of modifying for social distancing.
⯈ We are adding signage across the plant to remind everyone of our social responsibility outside of our homes.
⯈ We are adding cleaning supplies in the effort you would like to clean your own environment.
⯈ We are going to continue looking at all areas of the plant and will modify as necessary to provide a safe work environment.

Plant Wide News
We understand everyone has many questions, we tried to partner with health care experts to assist in answering:
What changes have been made to help limit the spread of the virus within the plant?
First, a 6’ social distancing rule has been implemented on site. In areas where this cannot be met, other protection methods have been implemented. Areas where TM’s normally had met in close proximity have been modified. The cafeteria, washrooms, etc have been changed to help reduce transmission of the virus. Please respect the changes made in these areas.
I share tools with others in my work areas. How can I protect myself from the potential transmission of the virus?
We have significantly increased our disinfecting supplies throughout the plant. Please develop a “Clean before Use” mindset. Before you begin to use a shared tool (forklift, pump cart, scanner, hogring gun, etc) use the disinfectant to wipe the equipment down. This will help reduce the risk of spread. Avoid touching your face and handling your cell phone. Thorough hand washing when heading to and from the shop floor will significantly reduce the likelihood of transmission.
I am exhibiting symptoms associated with the Covid-19. What should I do?
If you are exhibiting these symptoms at home, please stay home. We encourage you to contact your physician to assess your health status and follow up with human resources. We also suggest that you follow the CDC guidelines in regards to containing the virus. In parallel, Adient is providing helpful tools through the portal to help you with managing yourself back to good health
What if I start to exhibit symptoms of Covid-19 at work, what should I do?
If you start to feel unwell, please notify your supervisor immediately. You will be moved to a designated area, where a H&S resource will assess your conditions and direct you further.
Are laundered gloves safe to use?
For the laundry industry, there are no recommended changes in normal laundry processing of textiles from the CDC, as the current textile processing standard of appropriate time, temperature and chemical should kill the virus.
We are all in this together! Every one of us play a key role in protecting each other here at work so our loved ones are protected at home. Our social responsibility to protect ourselves and each other is the only way we can help reduce the spread.
